Goals check

Well, it's September now. Let's see how I did shall we?

1. Writing. Goal: write 10,000 words.

Totally achieved this: with 18,242 words. YAY.

2. Health: start the running program  that looked good and make better, healthier food choices.

I haven't even made it to the gym yet. I'm going to start walking for at least an hour a day. That will help with the stress. (Yes, two weeks into school and I'm already stressed)

3. Procrastination/Time management: make a schedule and stick to it.
I'm doing pretty well, but not as good as I want to with my time. I haven't figured out a *good* schedule that doesn't cut into my sleep yet, but I am making progress, day by day.

4. Poetry: Don't freak out.
I've written two poems so far this semester. They actually make some sense and use similes and metaphors. I got feedback letters back and they all make valid, helpful points usually on the same parts of the poems. I think this class is going to be good, I'm just struggling a bit because I really have to read the poems and pay attention to form and line breaks.

Wow, what a great word count for August. Go you for exceeding your goal!

And I know what you mean about already being stressed out by school. There's so much work I need to do for my classes already, and all of them haven't even started yet. It doesn't help that the ones that HAVE started are online, making it way too easy for me to procrastinate on LJ, TV Tropes, and the like. (Oops.)

And you're writing poetry? I'm in total awe right now. While I don't mind reading it, I absolutely wig out whenever I have to write any. Good luck!

I am writing poetry. Even though I hardly read it. It's all very strange.

I wrote a poem about Cinderella and my critique group in the class liked it. :)

I intend to assail them with fairytale themed poetry all semester. They'll hate me.

I had to take a BASIC computer course(I mean, like, turning on the computer and opening up Word basic) online. Awful class. Did nothing but read the directions to complete the homework and still made an A.

I hope your computer class goes well.

Oh, I'm not taking a computer class! English 102 and two different religion courses are what I'm taking online. (But thanks for the good luck!)

And fairytale-themed poetry sounds awesome. Have fun inducing hatred in your class with that. :P

I will, thanks. :)

Religion courses online. hmmmm. I've had several religion courses not online and they are a bit hard. I don't know if I would like to take one online.

Good luck with all your classes.

Good Job, Anne! You knocked out most of this months goals and something tells me by next month you will tackle them all. It takes a little bit to get into the routine (or at least it did for me).

Awesome word count too! It always feels good to meet your goal and wave at it as you continue pass it ;)
